We have been in UT Lead for about two weeks and I have been having a great time. I have met a lot of new people and we have had some fun experiences over the past weeks. I have learned a numerous amount of things such as, how to eat with etiquette. Everyday I learn something new over these few weeks. We are getting a firs hand experience of what college life is like before we arrive at college and that is a exellent experience in itself. So far the people have been friendly except a few in this program who just have stuff going on, but I guess I shouldn't judge people because I not perfect and that is something else that I have learned throughout this program. No more parents telling you what to do and when to go to bed, it's up to you to make that descision for yourself. UT Lead has done a very good job in showing me how college life is going to be and for that I thank th UT Lead program and everyone who was a part of putting it together.
What a sweet post! It seems you have gotten the essence of what the UT Lead program is about. A huge component of the UT Lead program is about teaching you what the rigors of college will be like and what you can expect so that you are armed with enough knowledge and experiences to help you adjust easier. Everyone involved in the UT Lead program is here to help you and we all want to see you succeed. I am thrilled that you have been enjoying yourself and that you understand why you are here.
ReplyDeleteYou are right that your parents will no longer be around to tell you what to do. You now have to take charge and be responsible for yourself and your own destiny and success. That is probably a somewhat scary thought, but you will get the hang of just like I did and others before you! ;-)
